How to Create a Watermark Using Gimp

As I was chatting with some friends at Solo Masterminds about using Pinterest, the topic of how to make a watermark to protect your graphics came up. The conversation was that you should have a watermark on the images you use online so that people won’t steal them and so they can be tracked back to you should they lose their link in Pinterest.

So I went on a search for a watermark generator but couldn’t find anything. Then I decided to whip up a video for my friends on how to create a watermark for your graphics using Gimp.

This video shows an easy two-step process that anyone can use to create their own graphics watermarks. Practice this and in no time you’ll be whipping up watermarks in a hurry:

Gimp is an awesome graphics program an in my opinion is highly under-rated! If you want to save yourself some bucks on graphics design then check it out. Thank you Angela! This is going to look even better than what I’ve been doing and it looks like it’s quicker too.

Thanks, Angela–I have Gimp on my laptop but haven’t played with it much yet. I am definitely going to try adding a watermark to my photos…you make it look simple to do!

@Val & @Sylvia – You’re welcome! Let me know if you run into any problems or have any questions about it. I’ll be adding these to all my site pics too, I think.

Also – I think it may be a good idea just for branding purposes because sometimes people don’t realize what site they are on so when they look at your complimentary image they’ll be reminded.

Your explanations are so easy to follow. I’ve wanted to try Gimp for a while, but just did not take the time. I’m glad I found your site and am looking forward to more great info.
